Details for Lagan Festive Head of the river Saturday 21st December 2013

The buses will leave from the boathouse at 8.30am sharp on Saturday 15th December 2013 returning at approximately 5.00pm. The  trailer will be loaded on Saturday from 8am All athletes will travel on the buses provided and be in possession of a Bann racing top, festive hat,change of clothes and a packed lunch.

The cost of the travel and entry fees is £12 , please bring the correct money on Saturday morning.

Parents/family are encouraged to come and support the racing which takes place on the Lagan and is best viewed from the Governor or Kings bridges. The race takes place at 13.o0pm .

A heroes welcome home from Bann Rowing Club for Olympic Medalists (L-R) Richard Chambers,  Alan Campbell  and Peter Chambers (Pictured Sports Minister Carál Ní Chuilín)  - Northern Ireland's Olympic medal-winning rowers are receiving a heroes' welcome in their hometown of Coleraine.Team GB rowers Richard and Peter Chambers took silver in the lightweight fours, while Alan Campbell won a bronze in the single sculls.They have returned to Bann Rowing Club where they honed their rowing skills.Sports Minister Carál Ní Chuilín said their "achievement really does transcend sport and serves as an inspiration to us all".The celebrations will continue with an appearance in the town centre at about 15:00 BST.The three men were cheered by supporters at Belfast City Airport as they arrived back in Northern Ireland on Wednesday morning.
