Neptune Regatta Saturday 21st April 2012

Buses to Neptune Regatta will leave from the boathouse at two separate times -

  • Junior boys, i.e. those coached by Chris and Jeremy will leave the boathouse at 5am sharp.
  • The remainder of the athletes all the girls and senior boys will leave the boathouse at 7.30am sharp

Buses will return at approximately 10pm. All athletes will travel on the buses provided and must have a Bann racing top, change of clothes and a packed  meals  sufficient to cover breakfast, lunch and tea.

The cost of the travel is £20 if racing once and £25 if you are entered in more than one event, please bring the correct money on Thursday evening.

Parents/family supporters  are encouraged to come and support the racing which takes place on the Liffey Dublin see google link for directions.

Please see attached link which gives the schedule of racing for the Regatta, it should assist in your days enjoyment.

If you have any queries contact the coaches Julie, Karen, Seamus or Jeremy who will be at the boathouse on Thursday evening.

A heroes welcome home from Bann Rowing Club for Olympic Medalists (L-R wearing their Bann Rowing Club tops) Richard Chambers,  Alan Campbell  and Peter Chambers (Pictured Sports Minister Carál Ní Chuilín)  - Northern Ireland's Olympic medal-winning rowers are receiving a heroes' welcome in their hometown of Coleraine.Team GB rowers Richard and Peter Chambers took silver in the lightweight fours, while Alan Campbell won a bronze in the single sculls.They have returned to Bann Rowing Club where they honed their rowing skills.Sports Minister Carál Ní Chuilín said their "achievement really does transcend sport and serves as an inspiration to us all".The celebrations will continue with an appearance in the town centre at about 15:00 BST.The three men were cheered by supporters at Belfast City Airport as they arrived back in Northern Ireland on Wednesday morning.
