Richard,Alan and Peter excel at the World Rowing Championships

Richard secured Gold in the light weight four in one of the greatest races in recent history and certainly the race of the Championships. The Al Pacino speech in the film “Any Given Sunday” was made to describe this race. Alan as always pushed himself to the limit and beyond to secure a bronze medal in the men’s scull a brillant result.

Peter the up and coming star in GB rowing. At the age of twenty he is the sixth best light weight sculler in the world what else can you say!

A heroes welcome home from Bann Rowing Club for Olympic Medalists (L-R) Richard Chambers,  Alan Campbell  and Peter Chambers (Pictured Sports Minister Carál Ní Chuilín)  - Northern Ireland's Olympic medal-winning rowers are receiving a heroes' welcome in their hometown of Coleraine.Team GB rowers Richard and Peter Chambers took silver in the lightweight fours, while Alan Campbell won a bronze in the single sculls.They have returned to Bann Rowing Club where they honed their rowing skills.Sports Minister Carál Ní Chuilín said their "achievement really does transcend sport and serves as an inspiration to us all".The celebrations will continue with an appearance in the town centre at about 15:00 BST.The three men were cheered by supporters at Belfast City Airport as they arrived back in Northern Ireland on Wednesday morning. not-even-the-captain-could-buy-a-win
